Buttermilk to launch exciting new ranges at Speciality and Fine Food Fair 2016

View the whole press release

Artisan confectioner Buttermilk will be returning to the Speciality and Fine Food Fair at Olympia, London to showcase four new exciting ranges.

The fair, taking place from 4 to 6 September, will see Buttermilk launching a new foodservice offering, a range of Cornish collaborations and luxury gift boxes, as well as showcasing their Christmas range. New products can be sampled at stand 2020/b in the Taste of the West area of the National Ground Hall.

Buttermilk has created a range of confectionery specifically for catering businesses, offering time-saving solutions for those looking to offer customers an artisan treat, as well as innovative ingredients for chefs.
Their selection of handmade petits fours make a great accompaniment to coffee, and a choice of fudge bars and loose confectionery can be served as part of an after-dinner fudgeboard, a sweet play on a traditional cheeseboard.

Working closely with Cornish chef James Strawbridge Buttermilk has created some delicious recipes to show how their artisan confectionery can compliment a range of dishes.

Managing director Tracy McGoad said: “James has offered us an insight into how our products can be used for foodservice, enhancing both sweet and savoury dishes. A favourite of ours is fudge affogato: Cornish ice cream with fudge caramel and espresso sauce. Look out for
James who will be demo’ing with our products at the fair.”

Cornish collaborations:

Also launching at this year’s Speciality and Fine Food Fair is a range of Buttermilk products celebrating the best ingredients local to their Bodmin kitchen. They include a new Earl Grey fudge sharing box, a collaboration with Truro-based Tregothnan Tea.

Earlier this year they worked closely with Tarquin Leadbetter, founder of Southwestern Distillery, to create limited edition Tarquin’s Gin and Pastis fudge products. The gin fudge proved such a success that they are now making the flavour a permanent addition to their range.

Managing director, Tracy McGoad said: “It has been great to collaborate with fantastic Cornish producers to create something fun and a little different.”

The Cornish Earl Grey fudge and Tarquin’s Gin fudge are available in 150g sharing boxes with an RRP of £3.99 each.

Luxury range gift boxes:

The Speciality and Fine Food Fair will also see the release of Buttermilk’s new luxury range gift boxes. A decadent selection of chocolate coated fudge flavours including Caramel Sea Salt, Very
Berry, and Death by Chocolate are presented beautifully in the stylish new packaging.

The 6 piece gift box (180g) has an RRP £6.99, or a 9 piece gift box (320g) has an RRP £9.99 .

Christmas products:

Visitors to Buttermilk’s stand will find two brand new festive flavours in its award-winning Christmas confectionery range. Mince Pie Crumbly Fudge and Cranberry and Orange Smooth Fudge join the award-winning Irish Cream Crumbly Fudge on sale in Christmas-themed sharing boxes.

They are also launching a Christmas gift box: a delicious 18 piece selection of traditional festive fudge flavours including brandy butter, chocolate orange, and ginger.

The sharing boxes come in 100g boxes with an RRP of £2.50 each. The 250g Christmas gift box is priced at an RRP of £9.99.

Notes to Editors

Buttermilk is a family business, born and bred in Cornwall, now run by Tracy McGoad and her husband David Goad. Their love and enthusiasm for everything sweet has been guiding their
artisan confectionery since 1964.

All Buttermilk’s treats are lovingly handmade in-house by its craft confectioners, and include smooth and crumbly fudge, tablet, brittle, honeycomb and chocolate clusters. Stirred over open flames in traditional copper pans, Buttermilk’s skilled team blend ingredients to create irresistible treats. The traditional methods used have been the same since they started over 50 years ago. The kitchen has just got a lot bigger!
