View the whole press release

To celebrate its sponsorship of cricket’s National Village Cup, Pipers Crisps is giving consumers the chance to win one of a hundred Pipers’ deckchairs, and is also looking for 500' Community Team Players' .

During 2017, Pipers Crisps is proudly supporting village cricket through sponsorship of one of its most treasured competitions; the National Village Cup. To celebrate, Pipers’ is giving consumers the chance to win a Pipers’ deckchair, the perfect village cricket spectator’s prize, helping them enjoy cricket as it should be.

From 1st April 2017, as part of a seasonal, on-pack promotion, there will be one hundred surprise cards hidden inside random packs of Pipers Crisps. If consumers find a card in their pack, they’ll be able to swap it for one of Pipers’ beautiful and highly sought-after deckchairs. For retailers, foodservice outlets, pubs and bars the on-pack promotion will be supported by social media activity and PoS materials, including counter-top display units, beermats.

Alongside this competition, Pipers is also proudly supporting local communities, looking for the people who make a real difference to them, through activities such as organising cricket teas. It doesn’t have to be cricket related; it might be helping at the local fair, organising litter-picking or doing any one of the hundreds of small tasks that make our local communities tick.

If you’d like to thank your ‘Community Team Player’, Pipers Crisps is asking you to nominate them on the Pipers’ Facebook page, on Instagram or on Twitter using #pipersheroes. Pipers Crisps will choose 500 ‘Community Team Players’ over the summer and each of them will receive a mixed eight-pack box of Pipers Crisps as a small ‘thank you’.

Alex Albone, Founder of Pipers Crisps, says: “We’re proud to support village cricket, and local communities, through sponsorship of the National Village Cup. This fantastic competition supports and promotes the game which brings pleasure to so many people throughout the year. It’s a perfect fit for Pipers, as our crisps are all about provenance, local sourcing and supporting local community spirit in all its guises. Our crisps feature in the focal point of many communities - in the local pub and the village shop - so it feels natural to become involved in village cricket, the game that brings communities together. Recognising and thanking the people, often the unsung heroes, that make these communities tick is something we’re proud to support,” he adds.

Pipers Crisps: Five in a row for Britain’s Best Brand

View the whole press release

Pipers Crisps has once again been voted Britain’s ‘Best Brand’ of savoury snack; that’s five years in a row for the Lincolnshire-based premium crisp maker. They topped the poll in the annual survey of speciality food products on sale in UK delicatessens, farm shops and food halls, as voted for by the retailers themselves.

“We’re really pleased to have won the ‘Best Brand’ award for the fifth time in a row,” says Pipers Crisps’ founder Alex Albone. “This is a very special award for us because it is voted for by the retailers themselves; our own customers. It shows that we’re consistently doing the right things, and doing them to a very high standard. For us, it’s all about a consistently high quality product, exceptional customer service and great distribution - and it seems these standards are also valued by our loyal independent retailers and their customers,” he adds.

“We may not be introducing fancy new flavours every few months, but we’re certainly not standing still. This year we’ve launched our first new flavour for four years - Atlas Mountains Wild Thyme & Rosemary - and announced that our entire range is now gluten-free, wheat-free and barley-free.
We’re also attending lots of popular, family events throughout the year to increase our exposure and encouraging more people to engage with the brand. We’ll be doing even more country fairs, beer and music festivals (including CarFest North and South) again this year,” Alex says.
