An Introduction to CFE
At CFE, we believe that everyone in the community has the right not just to food, but to the right food - access to food is a right, not a privilege. The food and drink we consume should be safe, nutritious, affordable, accessible and culturally acceptable. Newham Foodbank (NFB) started in 2010 and has grown due to huge demand, now operating out of four sites in the borough. CFE uses its infrastructure (vans and warehouse) to support their work by collecting food from supermarkets and other donors, storing it in our warehouse and delivering it, free of charge. During the last year (2013/14), the NFB supported over 2,000 families.
You can help CFE by donating food after the show.
Please leave your donated goods on the Fine Food Live (stand 2329) or Speciality Chocolate Live (stand 2747) after the exhibition closes on Tuesday 8th September.
Any food donation must be safe and wholesome (within the definitions of the Food Safety Act, 1990) and suppliers must be able to demonstrate strict handling procedures throughout the preparation process to the point of sale/delivery.
