First time at Specialty and Fine Food Fair
Small beginnings
The original concept for make your own alcohol themed kits was developed by our daughter Helen, about nine years ago. We were the first to market with a make your own gin kit. And, we have been copied many times since! Initially, sold through Not on the High Street, where it was one of their best-selling lines for two years at Christmas. When we were approached by Anthropology to develop a kit for them we realised that there could be a wholesale market for our kits. Since then we have developed an exclusive range for retailers. We have four shops in our family and we know how frustrating it is to be undercut online. Our pledge then as it is now, is not to complete with any of our stockists by us selling directly online.
All these years later we are still and small family business and have a passion for developing different alcohol-themed craft kits. We try to make them interesting and engaging to use without being too taxing. We work hard to make sure the quality of the ingredients are top notch so to guarantee a great result. All our Craft Your Own kits are checked and tested regularly to ensure they really taste good. Someone has to do it!
Award-winning
Over the last nine years we have had thousands of happy customers. We believe we are still the best as we do not skimp on our customer care nor yet the quality of our botanicals. After all, a cake is only as good as its ingredients. So, it is no coincidence that we have been highly commended two years running by Gift of the Year Awards.
Speciality and Fine Food this year for us is a huge milestone as it will the first time our new brand – Craft Your Own will be seen at this show. It will also be the first outing of our new range. For years we had produced variations of gin making kits and now we have rum, whisky and vodka joining the family.
Tasting is believing
We believe in tasting is believing. So, on our stand you will be able to taste the results of using our kits. People are always surprised how good the end results are.
We are really excited to see how buyers react to our new range. If our market research is anything to go by then we will have great reaction and hopefully loads of orders.
Craft Your Own and the planet
The environment is really important to us. Across the range we have worked hard to ensure we do the minimum damage to the environment. We source all our components including our packaging from UK based companies. All of our literature is printed on FSC approved material using water base inks. We are pleased to say there is no single-use plastic in our kits and we even use compostable bags and glassine envelopes, which is why we were voted the ‘Most Environmental kit on the Market’ by BBC Good Food Magazine.
