HQF AGRICOLA

HQF Agricola is the ethical and social project created to develop a short and sustainable supply chain capable of ensuring maximum traceability and quality, with the ethical goal of supporting agricultural producers and disseminating made in Italy food excellence.
We adopt a natural farming method and bring forward a certified zero-residue horticultural production, to offer you only fresh and genuine products, free of chemicals, processed according to traditional methods and controlled from production to distribution.

OUR PRODUCTION: THE MARANGO

The Angus of the Italian supply chain is born from a cross between Angus Aberdeen in purity and Italian Maremmana or Frisona. Each animal is raised in the wild for 6/7 months and
subsequently for a further 10-12 months following the certified Marango Fioc diet.

A zootechnical production that is the result of long research, started by HQF and located in the Norchia area, chosen because it has a natural minerality of the earth that makes it particularly suitable for animal breeding.

FEEDING OF MARANGO

As a result of a consultation process of a high level panel of experts led by Dr. Tassinari (Full Professor of Business Statistics at the University of Bologna since 1994) a specific diet has been defined under the name of ‘Marango Fioc’: it consists of grains, cereal’s and oilseed’s
by-products, corn flakes, and possible addition of fodder and/or silage.

In the last fattening-finishing phase (approximately 6 months before slaughter) the diet can be completed with vegetable fat (from 50 to 300 grams head/day) and linseed (from 50 to 500
grams head/day ).
A perfect mix of natural raw materials, implying two key results: the increase of Omega 3 and the reduction of Omega 6 of the meat. The diet includes the obligation to use only plant products, with the exception of breast milk during the lactation and up to weaning periods.

SELF- PRODUCTION OF FEED

Thanks to the entry into the network of a forage producing farm, we are able to self-produce the feed that feeds the Marango, thus becoming a closed-circuit company.

BENEFITS OF NUTRITION

The result in organoleptic terms is a high marbling of the meat and an significant fat cover enfatizing to protect the flavors.

The mineral taste of the Maremma breed and the typical
sweetness of the Angus.
