O.P.A.S. - EAT & THINK PINK UK

O.P.A.S. Soc. Coop. Agr. is the largest Product Organization in the pork meat sector in Italy, was founded in 2004, with the aim of valorizing the meat produced by its members. Today represents 12% of Italian pig farming. The main activity of OPAS is the slaughtering and sale of pork meat from pigs delivered by 64 breeder members. OPAS purchases live pigs from members and third-party suppliers, butchers and sells the meat to ham factories, food industries, cutters, wholesalers, large-scale retail trade and HoReCa. The product sold is fresh meat, fresh processed meat, frozen meat, cured hams within the PDO, processed products under the ‘Eat Pink’ brand (pre-cooked, hamburgers, etc.).

The “Eat &Think Pink UK – Say yes to the Best, Eat European Pork!” project, headed by OPAS, is aimed to respond to the strategic objectives set by the European Commission in Reg. 1144/2014. The project aims to strengthen the competitiveness of European pork on the UK market.
