ICEX to showcase the best of Spain at Speciality & Fine Food Fair 2024
Foods and Wines from Spain is delighted to announce its participation in the upcoming Speciality Fine Food Fair, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary at Olympia London on 10th and 11th September 2024 (stand 1120).
This prestigious event, marking a quarter-century of bringing together the finest food and drink producers from around the world, will see ICEX proudly presenting the rich culinary heritage of Spain through a series of exciting events and showcases.
The Spanish Pavilion will be a hub of activity, offering three cookery and tasting demonstrations each day. These sessions will highlight the diverse and flavourful products that Spain is renowned for, giving visitors a chance to experience the true taste of Spain.
One of the highlights of the Spanish Pavilion will be the ‘Spanish Aperitivo’ with celebrated Chef Omar Allibhoy, scheduled for 11.30am on both days of the trade show. Omar Allibhoy is a renowned Spanish chef and the founder of the Tapas Revolution restaurant chain. His passion for Spanish cuisine and his charismatic personality has made him a well-known figure on the UK culinary scene. During these sessions, Chef Omar will lead a guided cooking demonstration, giving attendees the opportunity to taste a variety of dishes while learning about the high-quality Spanish products used in their preparation.
In addition to these demonstrations, the Spanish Pavilion will feature a dedicated space where leading importers Mevalco and Ultracomida will showcase their extensive portfolios. This area will present a curated selection of Spain's finest foods, offering visitors an exceptional opportunity to explore and sample products that capture the essence of Spanish gastronomy. Mevalco will also host a tasting session titled ‘Understanding Anchovies’, highlighting one of the most revered delicacies in Mediterranean cuisine. During the session, attendees will be guided through the subtle nuances of anchovies from three of Spain’s most distinguished producers: Don Bocarte, Pujadó Solano, and Herpac.
Continuing the lineup of gourmet experiences, is the "Awaken Your Iberico Sense" session, where attendees can indulge in a Jamón Ibérico tasting with ASICI, immersing themselves in the rich, nuanced flavours of this prized Spanish delicacy. Following this, Chef Omar Allibhoy will host "The Authentic Flavours of Asturias: A Gourmet Revelation," a cider and cheese pairing session which promises to showcase the unique and vibrant tastes of Asturias. The event will culminate in the Cheese from Spain Awards, presented by cheese expert Jessica Summer, where four exceptional Spanish cheeses will be honoured, celebrating the finest in Spanish dairy craftsmanship.
